In Dreams We Walk

As the sun falls, colors dance with quivering leaves, as gold falls in love with the ground, I feel each heartbeat, as the wind carries the cries of the wolves, through trees of yellow, my tears fall to their waiting hearts, as they beckon me to follow.

As the air becomes warmer, light falls upon us, and eventually, I find myself standing on a cliff bluff, the wolves rest peacefully beside me, I thank them for their love, and they thank me for my tears, and we both watch as the ocean's shiver fades, from the rise of the morning sun. In the distance, I see a silhouette, and as you turn, your blue eyes smile, for this is the first time the ocean has seen you. 

As I walk towards you, through the apricot sky, I reach out to hold your hand. I tell you that you were loved, and as a warm tear falls down your cheek, it comforts your smile, for this is the first time these words have spoken to you. For those moments I felt cold, I now see your heart is made of love, and with your untamed words, you have taught me to live true, to dream, and to believe in whom I choose to be. 

My daughter, you are brighter than I could have imagined, you are everything I hoped you would be, you have taken from life, and you have not let life take from you. You have learned to listen with your heart and bless others with your tender words, and just like the birds, you bless the earth with beauty and kindness. My Daughter, forever I will hold you tight, as we will always live together, just as the bird and the sky.

Father, now with each word I speak, I cry, for yesterday my heart was tangled, and today my heart is warm, and as I walk this earth, I will keep your love close, just as the falling water blesses the wilderness, you will be rain, and as the cold days fade, your heart will bloom, in the flowers of spring.
